Confrontation Between Abstract and Figurative Art in Post-war Italy

Abstract

The article discusses a significant period of the turn of the 1940–1950s in the history of art of post-war Italy, which was marked by the confrontation between two stylistic trends of figurative and abstract painting, which determined the picture of Italian art in the second half of the 20th century.
